A music project in Seinäjoki
“What would our lives be without Art? What motivations would drive us and shape our days?”
Music is essential !
It’s a way to escape, to think about something else, and to engage in introspection.
During my time in Seinäjoki, I was able to indulge in my second passion:
Playing the piano and singing!
First and foremost, I had to find the right instrument!
Here is an anecdote that left a lasting mark on my musical journey !
By chance, while strolling through the university, Mathieu Astruc stumbled upon a room tucked away from the bookstore after a meal. I was playing on a Kawai upright piano in the university library hall when Mathieu called me to come see what was at the top of a staircase.
I interrupted myself, and upon opening a hidden door, I was stunned, frozen in the moment! 🎹📚🚪
And that is how I managed to pursue my passion in the music field during my erasmus project !
The piano I played was a magnificent Steinway & Sons New York D-274 tuned to 442 Hz .
As pure jewel, its balanced and rich sound was perfectly filling the music stage.
Playing on these pianos is more than a reminiscence of sound experiences we got during our musical trainings from the past. It is the way to express our deepest emotions using nuances and silence !
“Silence is golden” It is the perfect way to highlight parts in any music !
From that day, I decided to plan a music concert here, at SeAMK, to revive the 80’s but also the music that has marked parts of my life !
