During the Covid-19, i watched like million people a serie which called “Queen’s Gambit”, so I started to learn the rules. Although i didn’t have any chessboard with me i played online against players and the competitive side in this field really attract me. That’s why i started to learn tactics, openings and endings which are really important if you want to improve your level.
When, I arrived in Seinäjoki i didn’t except any chess tournament but one day they announced a tournament on their instagram account. So i decided to enroll myself in the tournament. One of my friend who is Internation Master, gave me few tips for this tournament and i did 3/5, unfortunatelly i lost against the winner in the last game.
After talking with the organizer of the tournament, he advices me to go on tuesday, in the chess club in Seinäjoki which is external of the university.
That’s why, every tuesday i’m going with one of my Lithuanian friend “Tomas”, at the chess club close to the train station.
I always meet new people especially locals who are playing chess since more time than me but the pleasure is always here and i really enjoy all this moment because i’m killing two birds with one stone, just playing chess enable me to improving my language level but also to improve my chess experience and meet new people of course.
I was also really happy to see that Pierre-Sacha who isn’t really a chess enjoyer got caught up in the game for the tournament and did few games, because sometimes even we talk about our hobbie it’s also fine for us to share it together and to understand others.
