As part of our motivation and curiosity, we decided to take part in an automation course.
The subject of the course was to create a project based on an innovative idea for a machine or solution that could be used in everyday life.
After a lot of discussion and brainstorming, we decided to go for a pizza machine.
We’d had about ten hours with the teacher to introduce us to the basic software, which was BECKHOFF TWINCAT.
This enabled us to create and programme the operation of our programmable logic controller (PLC).
So there were two parts to the group: those who worked on the PLC on TWincat with a programming aspect, and I also developed a connection solution between Unity (modelling and simulation software) and our TWINCAT software using the ADS protocol.
The other part of the group, made up of Mathieu and tim (a Swiss), was in charge of modelling the Pizza machine and programming the whole simulation system, as well as the link between the PLC programme and our own, which represents the simulation.
The project came to a successful conclusion after a whole night behind the computer, but everything was fixed and it was a success to behold.
